ftp site

We maintain an ftp site for exchanging files with consultants, owners, and contractors. You will need a username and password to access the ftp site. Please call the project engineer or drafter in charge of your project for this information.

You can use the ftp site to send files to us as well as receive files from us. It is best if you compress your files before sending them. We highly recommend that you use real ftp client software to access the site, rather than a web browser. See the resources section below for suggestions.

Once you have your username and password, you can access our ftp site using most ftp client software at the internet address: ftp.tippingmar.com

If you must use a web browser to access the site, the address would be:
ftp://ftp.tippingmar.com

Tips and Troubleshooting

If you are trying to access the ftp site with a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc) try instead using ftp client software (see resources above) before you ask for our assistance.

If your software cannot find our server at all, make sure you are using the address ftp.tippingmar.com. If your computer has a problem resolving names, you can try the numeric address 66.117.142.70.

Some ftp programs attempt to log on using the username anonymous unless you set them up to use a specific username. Our server won't accept an anonymous logon. You must use the username and password given to you. Both are case sensitive.

FTP comes in two basic flavors; active and passive. A detailed technical comparison of the two is available here, if you are interested. Our server will accept either type. It is possible that a firewall in between your desktop and our server will make one or both of the connection methods fail. If you are having problems, try switching to the other type. Not all web browsers have the option to switch, but all of the ftp clients listed above can handle either type.

When sending files to us, you must upload your files into the folder named toTMA. You will not be able to upload files into the folder named fromTMA.

Your username and password are valid for one project area. If you are working on multiple projects with us, you will need a username for each project.
